Car damaged when at the garage - which insurance to claim on?

While my car was at garage for repair this morning another driver drove into it and pushed it into another car.

The damage to my car is extensive to the front and rear. The car had been parked by the garage staff on the public highway outside the forecourt. The car was taken from my home to the garage by one of the mechanics.

The police have been involved, there is an incident number and they have interviewed the other driver who is insured and accepted liability.

Should the garage make a claim on their insurance or should I and claim on my insurance and recover losses back through the county court?

The garage is liable because this happened when the car was in its custody. The garage has to claim. But you have to inform your insurer.
