Which is the most efficient motorway car?
I drive 30,000 miles per year commuting to and from work, with 90% of this on the motorway. What is the most efficient car I could buy for traveling at speeds of 65 to 70 mph? The size and type of the car isn't an issue. I currently average 55mpg in my BMW 118d.

I have averaged 64mpg in an F30 320dED over 7,000 miles. I reckon at 65-70mph I'd be averaging a genuine 70mpg. I think the reason is that the car is more efficient on upward inclines than a smaller engined petrol or diesel would be.
