Who pays for my replacement windscreen?
I bought a Ford Fusion (54 reg) in good condition with the exception of having to return it straight away to have a new coil fitted (car was juddering and jerking).
I have realised that the screen heater does not work at all on the driver's side. I have rang the dealership where I bought the car and told an advisor of the fault.
She said they would charge £60 for a diagnosis which would be refunded if the warranty (Benfield 12 warranty) covers this. I asked, as the fault has been present from sale, if it would covered, but she replied "not if you didn't point this out."
I thought under the Sale of Goods Act it was up to the seller to point any faults out at point of sale or they where in breach of contract. Anyway I said I'd bring it in first and take it from there. If it was just an element causing the problem then maybe it wouldn't be too costly, but if it was the screen needing replacing as I thought she may be implying then I'd rather go without.
So my question really is who should be paying for this?

You are absolutely correct and they are totally out of order. Simply inform them that they can take the car back and give you a full refund, or they can replace the Quickclear heated screen (expensive), or you will have it replaced and will use www.moneyclaim.gov.uk to sue the for the cost. Give them 7 days to make their decision.
