Which new car for a 66-year-old with 2 hip replacements?
I have a 2004 5-door diesel Yoyota Yaris which I like very much. I have recently had a second hip replacement and am wondering if it is time to consider replacing it with a small automatic, as I've read that it is not wise to change to an automatic at an older age.
I need a small, reliable supermini with good fuel consumption and low yearly costs. I don't actually need a new car now so would consider waiting if you think there might be a new model on the horizon which would suit better than current models.
I don't have any particular budget and would consider buying anything up to £20,000.

At the moment, the Ford B-Max wins the short and tall race, currently with a 1.6 petrol engine and Powershift automatic, but coming soon with a 1.0 Ecoboost engine and Powershift.
Alternatives are KIA Venga, Hyundai ix20, Toyota Yaris hybrid.
