I live on the island of Malta where I cover 6,000 miles annually and am looking to replace my aging 1997 Civic VTi with a brand new manual transmission petrol car.
I'm not sure if you can help me pick the right car as one of the models I'm considering is not available in the UK but you may have driven it abroad. Reliability and fuel economy take priority over handling.
1. Hyundai Elantra (1.6 MPI, 135 PS)
2. Ford Focus (1.0 Ecoboost, 125 PS)
3. Ford Focus (1.6 Petrol, 105 PS)
4. Seat Leon (1.4 TSI)
5. Seat Toledo (1.4 TSI)
Can you rank the above in order of your preference? Given that I intend to keep the car for at least 7 years, should I be concerned about the long term reliability of turbo models?

Looks like a saloon, but is actually a hatchback with a huge boot. Good quality. Spacious interior.
