Citroen Sensodrive problem
I have a Citroen C2 (2003) with the Sensodrive gearbox and 60,000 miles on the clock. Recently the car has been sticking in gear and I receive the flashing snowflake on the dash that shows a malfunction. As the car sticks in gear it then stalls when you stop, requiring the battery to be disconnected for a short time before you can select a gear again and restart.
Citroen have diagnosed a fault with the actuator (repair cost £900) but can't be sure this will fix it. My local garage seem to think the actuator isn't the problem as it selects gears fine and then intermittently sticks. There seems to be no definite answers and I can't afford to spend hundreds just diagnosing what might be wrong. Any ideas?

Well we would have suggested a diagnostic check in the first instance, suspecting either the gearbox ECU or the actuator.
We would have thought that the garage could clarify whether the ECU was faulty or they could actually remove and send it to specialist's ie ( ECUtesting .com) which although costly (approx £150) would at least clarify the situation.
I suppose you could ask the dealership the question that if the new actuator doesn't work, will they replace with the old one and not charge you for the component.
