Ownership of a Motorbike

I owned a motorbike 20 years ago which a friend stored for me. I lost touch with him depite trying to locate him. Last year however I found him via facebook. He never sold the bike but left it with someone who told him they had scrapped it.

This week however It has appeared on the well know online auction site. The bike has never been back on the road in the entire time and my question is can I claim ownership of it and if so how do I go about it.

You would have to prove ownership and the people who have looked after the bike in the meantime could claim storage costs from you greater than the value of the bike.
