Dealer warranty mistake
I recently purchased a used Jaguar 2.2 SE estate from a main dealer in Reading. The car was sold to me on the understanding I would benefit from a one-year 'Approved' Jaguar warranty. When the documents arrived, I was surprised to see I had been issued a lesser 'Select' warranty for a period of just three months.
The salesman has verbally assured me that this will be rectified, but that I probably won't get any paperwork until after Christmas (beyond 30 days from purchase, which I believe takes me outside of the returning the car to the dealer period).
The car has to go back for a fix to the heated front screen (passenger side not working) next Thursday and the service dept advised me that the car is still recorded as having the lesser Select warranty. Should I trust the salesman to put the warranty right, or would you recommend further action?

No. Don't trust him at all. He may even have left the job by then. Return the car, demand to see the dealer principal and demand your money back. Failing that, demand a written assurance that the car will be provided with the warranty you paid for.
