Excess oil consumption?
My daughter's car was serviced in September. When she came to visit last week, my husband checked her oil level to discover it was very black and half full.
The garage has since stated that being a diesel car, the oil soon goes black and should only be half full. Are they fobbing her off as she is a female or is this true?

Lube oil in a diesel is very rapidly contaminated with carbon without losing its lubricating properties. Check the handbook what level the oil should be.
