Hassle-free Estate

We are interested in a roughly 2 year old estate and have whittled down our choices to an A4 Avant or, failing that, a C class estate. We cover no more than 5,000 miles a year, mainly made up of short journeys in town. Our main priority is reliability and hassle-free motoring for the next 4 or so years. We are flexible on petrol or diesel and auto or manual (a slight preference for manual but the main criteria is reliability). In light of this, which model would you recommend within the A4 Avant or C-class range? Many thanks

Fir this sort of mileage do not even consider diesel or you could have continued DPF and EGR related problems. A4 1.8TFSI avant or 2.0TFSI avant probably the nicest.
