Thinking of trading my Ford Focus - I need more comfort

I have a 2010 Ford Focus, and find the handling slick and parking easy - but I feel the bumps on the road and would prefer a vehicle that gave me a more comfortable and relaxing ride. Maybe I should go for an older and bigger car; even and SUV or even an automatic.

My driving is mostly suburban with the occasional motorway trip adding up to about 12,000 miles a year. I don't want to make an expensive mistake so I would appreciate a range of suggestions.

If you sell or p/x a 2010 Focus (presumably the old model) you will lose a fortune anyway. Probably only get £6000-7500 for it, depending on model. So changing for the reason you give would be an expensive mistake anyway.
