Downsizing wheels for comfort

Is it feasible to change the wheels and tyres from the standard 6.5 x 16 running 195/45s to the base models 5.5 x 14 running 175 x 65s?

If so, will I have to have the engine remapped and will there be any unforeseen consequences.
