Considering buying a Mercedes-Benz SL
I am considering buyind a Mercedes Benz SL 350/500 from 2002-2006.
I recall from your column that there were lots of problems with Mercedes engines of this period where the gearbox oil was contaminated with engine coolant. Was this just for the E Class & S Class or was the SL also affected?
Also, did Mercedes ever sort out the leaking roof seals on this model?

All MBs fitted with Valeo radiators and transmission heat exchangers in the radiator. Don't buy a 2002 - 2006 SL. Buy a 2006 - 2008 model. They were much better.

Looks good and make you look rich. 2006 models with increased power vastly better cars. 388hp 500SL plenty fast enough and makes a nice noise.
