Secondhand Golf or new Focus?
I am in the market for a different car, sadly getting rid of my incredibly reliable, but old Corsa.
I could get another cheap and cheerful car, but I probably need something a bit bigger and have looked at a Volkswagen 1.4 TSI DSG for £9999 on an 09 plate, but there are also 12 plate Focus around for about £12500 (or thereabouts), both the 1.6 Titanium models with about 10k miles or the 1.0 Zetec with 6k miles.
My question is, is the small amount extra worth it for a new Ford Focus, or is the slightly cheaper, but older Golf still a better car? I do about 10,000 miles annually.

If I was you I would avoid a VAG DSG. Those 12 reg Focus seem very cheap to me, especially any 1.0 Ecoboosts for £12,500.
