Rear light issues with a Mondeo

Rear light not working, so changed bulb while lights were on. Now when I turn the lights on it won't light up - although when I press the brake, the bulb lights up fine.

Don't think its the bulb as it works fine on the passenger side.

Don't thinks its the fuse as the passenger side works fine.

Is it a 2 element bulb? IE has it got both the stop light and tail light element together? if so then check to see if both elements are okay, then check to see if you have fitted it correctly.

If it has only one element then you will have one bulb for the stop light and one for the tail lamp, so again check the tail lamp bulb.

Finally you could always check by swapping the good tail lamp from the near side (passenger side) with the off side (drivers side). If by swapping it works then the bulb is u/s. If it doesn't work then you have either a loose connection and or a bad earth connection.
