Buying a Mercedes-Benz C-Class

I am thinking of buying a C220 Estate to tow a caravan (approx 1500kg) and to accommodate 2 large black labradors. I usually keep my cars for 8 to 10 years.

I have been looking at the Mercedes C220 2.1 Blue Efficiency but would steer clear of the Sport model because of the low profile tyres and harder suspension.

For my price range of up to £16500 I am looking at cars 2 years old with 40k+ miles on the clock.

Is this Mercedes like the ones of legendary 250k capability or should I be considering another marque and spending a little less money?

I was very impressed with the base model C200 CDI manual Classic SE. Not so impressed with the fancier W204 C Class.
