petrol or diesel Qashqai?

I would be interested in your opinon regarding whether to opt for a diesel or petrol engine for a new Qashqai. We intend to keep the car for a number of years and would be mainly used by my wife with our two young children, the mileage would be approximately 5k miles per annum. I have concerns about long term issues with diesel engines from your previous answers.

For this low mileage, petrol.
