I'm looking to buy a bigger family car. Ideally we would like to have 5 proper seats with the pop-up style rear seats which turn it into a 7 seater (it's fine that these are small as they will mostly be used for kids). The Vauxhall Zafira seems to meet our requirements but some reviews suggest that it's not particularly reliable and has quite a few potential problems which worries me.

Unfortunately, we have a budget of only £4000. And an automatic diesel would be nice as we are planning longish road trips.

Is there anything you can recommend that will fit the bill?
