Who is at fault for the light failure on my Mondeo?

I had the AA out to fix my rear lights - they then realised that the parking lights weren't working and the bonnet catch wouldn't close, they fixed this and disconnected the battery to reset the ECU so the parking lights would work. I didn't try to start the car as I wasn't travelling that day. When I went to start the car - I got the message immobiliser fault - AA came out but were unable to repair and then relayed me home with my young daughter.

I then got the AA to take the car to the Ford Dealer as apart from the rear lights the car started and drove.

The car has been with the Ford Dealer for 3 days and they finally identified the problem as being a corroded wire in the loom which may have been disturbed by The AA causing it to break, I am waiting for the full report but currently I am looking at a £500+ bill.

I have spoken to Ford but they are only offering a 20% reduction based on loyalty. My car was bought from Ford specialist when 4 months old and has been serviced by Ford but there is no central record as I have used different Ford dealers.

It's a "one of those things". Can't blame the AA for disturbing something that was failing anyway. The car is 5 years old, two years out of warranty. A 20% reduction is reasonable. if it was a widespread fault then Ford would be liable. Presume Mondeo IV (current Mondeo), not Mondeo III?
