Is this deal on a Focus good?
7,995 for a Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec(climate) 59 reg with 31,000 on clock - grey(local Ford dealership)
The deal is:
-1,750 for my Polo 1.4 sport 02 reg (which I thought a fair price?)
-Manufacturers warranty until 20.10.12 plus 3mths warranty on that until 20.01.13 from garage
-Car is serviced and due for next July13
-No MOT as still under 3yrs old but garage have said they will provide an MOT
-An excellent after service, as they are a family business and like to take care of their customers.
-Tax has been discussed but garage did not want to agree 6mths or 12mths until I was definate.
-There are slight surface body scratches and a loose wing mirror case - garage agreed to fix these plus valet.
-I explained that the car was slightly more than what I had planned to pay. They have said nothing is fixed, some wiggling could take place if I was serious.
Just want to know if what has been offered so far seems fair and how far and it what areas can I push them?
i.e do I push for 12mths tax at £170 or more warranty?

An 09/59 should be £7,330; a 10/59 should be £7,780 with 31k mile (exactly 'book' mileage). The August book has dropped 2002 models, but July trade book for an 02 Polo 1.2 Sport was £3,050 with 88k miles. I think £3,030 is too much, but I think you have room to negotiate another £500 off.
