I bought my daughter a new Suzuki Swift two years ago. It is lightly driven, a good car, serviced regularly by main dealer. It has suffered from new from a persistent tendency to stall when moving off, at a junction, or manoeuvering in tight conditions.

It appears that the accelerator pedal has no effect for about one inch of depression, and the only solution is to use a rather heavy right foot when moving off or manoeuvering at low speed. The dealer has intimated that it has had reports of this before and said that what we used to call the slow running is not adjustable nowadays as it is all computer controlled.

All the dealer can do is set the codes as they should be. My daughter does not find the problem as serious as my wife and I as she drives only the Suzuki and has got used to it. The trouble with over-revving in tight manoeuvers is the risk of a sudden jerk forwards or backwards.
