Creaking noises from front of car
When I select reverse (auto box) and reverse up an incline, there is a distinct creaking sound from the front of the car. (It seldom does this on a flat road). At first I thought it might be the front brake pads binding, but stabbing the brake on and off doesn't stop the creak. Could it be a drive belt or maybe engine mounts? The car is 12 years old, I have had it from new and it's done 90,000 miles with a full BMW serice record.

Could be engine or transmission mounts, yes.
