Turbo failure at 23,000 miles
The van turbo has failed after 9 weeks and 23,000 miles, I've been told it failed due to a lack if lubricant but the van had been serviced a week earlier and I'd driven over 350 miles that day before it broke. Now they won't honour the warranty. Is there anything else that could have caused the problem?

What has happened is that the oil feed to the turbo bearings has coked up from the engine being switched off when the turbo was still red hot. This restricted the oil supply to the turbo. The engine needed to be idled for 20 - 120 seconds to allow engine oil to cool the turbo.
