X-Trail or Santa Fe?
I have up to about £6k to spend and I have narrowed my choice down to the newer 06 2.2 Crd Santa Fe and a cheaper 04-05 Xtrail 2.2 Dci
I like the look of both, I prefer the seven seater option of the Santa Fe but have heard more good things about the X-Trail. Boots are roughly same size, MPG not a lot different.
I will be buying probably at least an 80k miler which ever one I choose at that price but that doesnt bother me
Obvious advantage of a 100k XTrail is that I could get one for around £4500 so money in the bank
Any expert advice or experience would be great as I need to buy very soon.

The 06 Santa Fe is a dog to drive on the road because it doesn't handle brilliantly and there is a huge gape between 2nd gear and third. Comes into its own with an autobox driving off road, though. The X-Trail is far better to drive on the road.

Relaxed motorway cruising. Comfortable ride. Excellent on very rough tracks. Available with seven seats. Good value. Much improved from 2010 with new 2.2-litre diesel.

Excellent drive on tarmac and very competent off road, large boot, plenty of standard equipment.
