Changing a Focus fuel filter
I have a 2005 (55 reg) 1.6LX Ford Focus Mk2. I intend carrying out a full 3 year service this weekend. I have a service kit that I bought from a Ford dealership on eBay. It comes with all the usual parts but no fuel filter. So is there a fuel filter on this car and where is it located? The Haynes manual (4785) makes no mention of one or when it should be changed in the maintenance schedule.

It's under the car on the drivers side just in front of the rear wheel, mounted on the side of the fuel tank.
It is mounted on a bracket via a metal strap. If it's the original filter then this strap will have a crimped type joint that will need prising apart, more likely it will have been replaced with a big jubilee type clip or tie wraps used to secure the filter.
To disconnect the fuel pipes depress the two 'buttons' on either side of the connector and pull the pipe off, there will be a bit of pressure so have a rag wrapped round as you undo the first one, the filter will contain some residual fuel so have a container handy to drain this into as you remove the filter.
When the new one is fitted the fuel pipes just push on, make sure they are fully home and job done, the car may need a bit of extra cranking before it starts to allow the fuel system to re-fill/ pressurise.
Try Euro car parts for the filter
