Winter tyres all year?
Are there disadvantages of remaining on winter tyres all year round for standard motoring, mixed town and motorway driving. (noise, wear, braking, handling in summer?)

Yes. Not suitable for high summer temperatures. Will not perform or wear as well as summer tyres, but unlikely to catastrophically fail.
