Can't read the kph on my Sportage

I have had a Kia Sportage KX3 just under two months and really enjoy the vehicle - fuel consumption is between 36/40mpg with 2000 miles on the clock.

I have just noticed that in day light it is impossible to read the kph - surely this must be against EU rules?

I do drive in France from time to time and can see that this could be a problem. The other thing that vexes me is that the satnav does not support full UK post codes - no good in remote rural locations and there is no TMC.

I can't see why a built in satnav should not be has good if not better than an after market item that can support full UK post codes, TMC, and safety camera locations.

No TMC because while this is a free service to satnav in Europe it is not free in the UK. No 7 digit postcode because the UK and Japan are the only countries in the world that pinpoint addresses so precisely. It is very difficult and often impossible to reprogramme satnav designed for less precise postcodes. If you nave a problem reading the kmh, then simply approximate the mph to the bands, eg 50 = 80, 56 = 90, 62 = 100.
