Replacing a Civic Type-R

I have had my Civic Type R (57 plate) from new. I love him (he is even called Roger as he's a red Type R) but my 6 month old is too heavy to lift in and out of the back in her carseat.

We also have an 11 year old son so need more space. My husband prefers motorbikes so isn't too bothered by what we have. I need a practical car (we've vaguely looked at a Quashquai and a Kuga) but I love my Civic so much I can't bear to part with him for a boring bus.

He makes my heart sing every time I drive him and I will cry when he goes to a new home, but my back can't take the lifting for much longer. We have a budget of up to £12,000.

Go for the same shape Civic 1.8 5-door. Much more practical, up to 45mpg, just doesn't have the performance. See video: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/honda/civic-2006/?se...t

We are looking for an economical family car with a large boot. We have two young children and a teenager and go camping every summer, so need something to fit all that. Do you have any suggestions?
