Buying a family estate
We are looking to buy a family car with a large boot. I cover around 12k miles annually - daily commute of 12 miles each way - more or less all motorway. Are we right to rule out the diesel option?
Our budget is £15k and we are considering maybe the Ford Focus estate or the Toyota Avensis Tourer, would you recommend one over the other?

An Avensis 1.8i Valvematic petrol makes the best sense. They are almost as economical as diesel without the added costs of turbo failures and all the emissions kit that goes wrong on diesels
