Downsizing from a Saab 9-3
I have a 2008 year SAAB Convertible 1.9 TTiD with 80,000 miles on the clock. Almost all of the miles have been motorway on long jouneys but I am now giving up the job that demanded the high mileage and am thinking about trading the SAAB for a smaller car before it costs too much in repairs.
What would you recommend as a fun car, convertible not essential, with low running costs. I want to add £2,000 max to the trade in price of the Saab. I have considered a Fiat 500, VW Beetle or Mini.

Get rid ASAP because of the huge potential for trouble with this engine and take advantage of Spring convertible season. FIAT 500 1.2s are slow with poor ride quality, but extremely reliable and have excellent seats for long journeys.
