Council car park with coloured zones

We have received a parking fine from a multi storey car park at a train station for parking in the wrong coloured zone. The black zones were for private users with permits, the green zones for users of the trains. However, I did not notice that we were in the wrong zone as was funnily enough, not reading every notice around the place while entering the car park as I was rushing to get the train. Usually, colours are applied to car parks to help you find your car more easily and remember where it was parked so I hadn't realised that I shouldn't have parked there.

If it's a council carpark, pay, then take the matter up with the parking adjudicator.
