Used car recommendation

I am looking to buy a new car to replace my 2007 Audi A6 avant. I want to spend a lot less money, around the £5k to £7k mark, the car needs to be able to tow a caravan weighing around the 1500kg mark when loaded, it needs a kerb-weight more than 1800kg. I do a lot of shooting and need something that will go off road occasionally, take two dogs, kids etc. I don't want something really old or really basic like a defender and want something that is going to be reliable.
The Jeep and Trooper seem to fit the bill, i wondered if you had any thoughts/ advise/ alternative ideas?
