My Nissan Terrano is 8 years old this year and has done 58,000 miles. I am a golfer and we live in a remote spot 700 feet above sea level so a 4wd has been very useful over the years. The vehicle has been very reliable but my thoughts of a replacement are focussing on an electric car and if possible a 4wd. I have followed closely reports of various models on trial and would like your advice as to whether it is likely that I will be to buy an affordable practical vehicle in the foreseeable future. My budget would be £10,000-£15,000 less the trade in of the Terrano. If the answer is not feasible within 1/2 years can you suggest an alternative?

No. The closest you can get to an electric 4WD for the money is a used Lexus RX400h hybrid, which has a conventional motor up front and a regenerating electric motor in place of the rear diff. Peugeot 3008 with the same arrangement coming soon.
