What new or pre-reg car for £6k?

I want to buy a small new or pre-reg car for around the £6k mark. I ride my motorcycle most of the year, but require a car for work. Requirements are: Cheap price (around £6k), new or pre-reg with delivery miles, warranty so that I have no repairs bills I haven't budgeted for, good on fuel, and cheap road-tax.
I'm considering the C1, 107, Spark, Pixo, and Panda. They usually come in a bit above budget but I occasionally see pre-reg deals for the £6k mark. Is there a particular time of the year when I'm more likely to get a better deal or is it just a case of keeping an eye on the various dealer websites and adverts?
