Engine problem with my BMW 5 Series

My BMW has a problem. When accelerating it immediately starts to shudder. I stop and the engine is very rough as if it is misfiring.

Hello Jeff, well the problem could be a number of things,we would suggest that you check the Fuel system for air in the system, pipes, fuel filter for leaks /damage etc.
If ok Then it may be best to have a diagnostic check carried out as this should then show up a fault code ie P ---- 4 numbers, which can then be related to the actual fault.
Other than that the most likely problems would be
1.Fuel Pump
2.FRP (fuel rail pump sensor)
3.FRP ( control valve)
4.APP ( accelerator pedal position sensor)
5.CKP (crankshaft position sensor)
6.MAF (mass air flow sensor)
