How do I run in an Audi A4?
I am due to take delivery of a new A4 Auto 2.0 Petrol and wondering about running it in.
I am due to drive to Ireland - mostly motorway and fast 'A' Roads. The owners manual says "no more than 2/3s maximum engine speed for first 1000km" which is fine as the car will cruise at 75mph at less then 3000rpm.
My concern is whether covering that distance at a constant engine speed is good or bad for running the engine in.

Bad. Best to vary the engine speed by 500rpm ever 15 minutes or so.
