Made in Japan?

Do you know where I can find the country where a car is made? I am looking for a car officially imported into the UK that is actually made in Japan as I am convinced that these are the most reliable. I know this info is available on the VIN plate but I would like to know if there is a list of cars with their country of origin. If not, i'm looking for a confortable petrol car, 3 to 5 years old, with a large boot, reasonable economy, quiet at 80mph, preferable with a good stereo fitted as standard. Planning to run it until it breaks. Don't care about looks, handling or prestige.

Comes as saloon and a five-door Sportback. Competent and handles reasonably well. Ralliart is good fun.
