Luxury or Sensibility?

I'm looking at buying a car with a budget of £12k. I want a bit of luxury and have looked at 5 year old Jag XJs, S Class Mercs, 7 series BMWs and Audi A8s.

However I've also come across the Renault Laguna Coupe. How do you rate it? I can get a 2 to 3 year old model for this money, without too many miles on the clock - should I be swayed? Any other cars to add (remove) from the list?
