Vauxhall Corsa won't start

I have a Vauxhall Corsa SXI 1.3CDTI on a 57 plate that is not starting. It's been to Vauxhall who said there is low compression and the valves are damaged.

I have had these replaced at my local garage. The compression is now ok but the car still will not start. Fuel and entire engine has been checked and everything else is in working order.

There is now a suggestion that it may be the ECU but nobody can be sure despite a diagnostic analysis, can you help please?

There is a known defect on this model which is the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor multi plug becomes loose and causes bad connections, so would suggest that this is checked out.

If not that I cannot understand why a diagnostic check is not showing up any faults.

Are you sure that whoever repaired the engine made sure that the valve timing was done correctly? Given what has happened so far I would suggest that the valve timing is double checked just in case.
