Different tyres front and rear

I have a BMW 3 Series Convertible which needs new rear tyres. Currently fitted by BMW with Continentals.

Rear wheel size is 255/40R17 94. You have recently been recommending Michelin Pilot Primacy HP or the new 3s. Do you consider it would be an advantage to replace the Continentals with a pair of these?

My main priorities are grip and comfortable ride. I normally buy tyres at Micheldever. I assume they are still the best for value. Thank you for any advice you can give me.

What's on the front? The 40 profile is what is causing the poor ride. BMW and Mercedes often fit wider lower profile tyres to the rears than to the fronts to reduce the possibility of oversteer. But it wrecks the ride.
