Sudden loss of headlights

Hi there. I noticed the dipped beam headlamp bulbs fitted to our Hyundai Coupe Siii 2 litre were getting a bit dim. Internet forums suggested that bulbs dim over time, and as these were original equipment I arranged with a local, trusted, garage to fit new Osram Nightbreaker H7's. These were fitted yesterday. My wife drove the car to work this morning and 4 miles into the journey she flicked the mean beam on on a dark A road and immediately all the headlights - dipped and main beam - went out. She managed to pull over to safe spot and called Green Flag, who arranged to take the car back home on the back of a truck. I thought I had done the right thing by providing good bright headlights, but it seems not? Could it be the new bulbs that are at fault or is it just coincidence?

They have fused the lighting circuit by overloading it.
