Radiator of the lost Arc Weld
Last week when driving my 2002 Mercedes E Class automatic up the M23 I depressed the accelerator on and incline and there was no response; the car then started to slow down. I pulled off onto a side road, stopped the engine and then re-started. I managed to drive back to Bedford and the car was quite happy cruising at 70 mph but every time I hit an incline it slowed down. When I kick down on the accelerator there is no response. Any ideas?

You had better hope this was not caused by the dreaded Valeo automatic transmission fluid heat exchanger problem. Get the transmission fluid checked as soon as possible. Unfortunately my website 'Ask HJ' does not allow me to send attachments so I have had to send an attachment about the problem attached to this email.
