Wuff car wanted

My husband and I are both now retired and are considering the most suitable car for our retirement. We would like to travel in the UK and Europe, taking our dog with us, so are thinking about an estate car or a crossover and have looked at the Toyota Avensis and the Peugeot 3008. We currently own a Toyota Auris and that is about the right size for us but doesn't have the extra space in the rear for dog and luggage. Perhaps you could point us in the right direction and help us with ideas for a suitable mid-range vehicle?
