Vice Verso?
I am thinking of buying a Toyota Verso petrol model. The 1.8 however is only available as a semi-automatic and is called a Multidrive and has CVT technology. Could you tell me what this means? Is this engine suitable for towing a caravan and does it have a manual mode?

It's not semi-automatic, the ‘Multidrive-S’ is a proper CVT and it works extremely well. Test and video here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/toyota/toyota-vers.../ It can be overridden manually, but I don’t advise towing with a CVT.
