Angels of Murcia

After arriving at Murcia airport recently for a family holiday to La Manga I was shocked to discover that the hire car company would charge me 100 Euros for a full tank of fuel and informed me that I could bring the car back empty. This being a diesel car and only being there a week it would be almost impossible to use that much fuel.

In the end I only used a quarter of a tank. No doubt the next user of that car will be charged 100 Euros (the company only having to fill a quarter of a tank). I have never heard of this way of charging for fuel. I think this is absolutely scandalous. Needless to say Easycar (who I will never use again) has failed to reply to my complaint.

Standard practice. They tempt you with impossibly low hire rates. Then get the money back this way. You have to compare total costs to work out if you got ripped off or not.
