Could you recommend a car suitable for commuting 30,000 miles a year?
My son has just taken a post with a company in Newbury and will be travelling from Bournemouth five days a week. It would appear he will cover 30,000 miles per year. He has decided to purchase a new or secondhand car and would welcome advice as to your suggestion on which economical car to purchase. I have suggested that a Volkswagen Polo Bluemotion might be ideal. What do you think?

Our David Ross has been averaging 61mpg in a Polo Bluemotion, but I reckon your son might do better in a Fiat 500 Multijet diesel. I've had 65mpg out of these (unlike the TwinAir), and they are also surprisingly comfortable on a long run due to the excellent seats with good thigh support.
