Thanks to the AA patrolman who rescued my daughter from the roadside.

My 19-year-old daughter phoned me at 9pm from the side of the A1 where she was broken down on her way to university. Whilst I was talking to her (she did not have breakdown cover) an AA patrolman on his way home (who will have to remain anonymous) stopped to help. He worked out that the car was not repairable by the roadside (timing belt failure) and transported her and the car 50 miles to a service station by which time she had AA membership (via internet) and the car was relayed to her destination. When I spoke to him his rationale was "I would hope someone would do the same for my daughter.”

Heartwarming story of the quality of people the AA still attracts to this job.
