Roll model
We will soon need to replace an 8year old 2 litre diesel Zafira Elegance after 120,000 satisfactory miles. Requirements are: estate type vehicle for ease of loading/dog transport. Reasonable power/handling/economy. I find body roll of Zafira on bends unacceptable. Seating position of both front seats adjustable to allow an upright position with knees bent at approx 90deg. for my wife (due to back problem). For same reason auto trans. 4WD capability not a necessity. 4/5 seating capacity. Budget region of £20K. I am fairly tall and have always found Zafira rather cramped on long journeys. Could you make any suggestions? I have considered S-Max, but friend (life long car trader) not overkeen for reasons I believe of loss of value ie considers vehicle overpriced at outset.

You overcome the overpricing of the S-Max buy buying at a sensible discount via a broker like www.drivethedeal.com I can't understand why your friend in the car trade failed to mention this. No doubt that the best handling 7-seaters are the S-Max and the new Grand C-Max.
