Can you recommend a suitable automatic car to replace our 2003 Citroen C3?

We have a 2003 Citroen C3 1.4 automatic. We would like to trade it in for a newer car. It has to be an automatic and we would like the same size car with similar spec. With trade-in we have about £12,000 to spend. Which car would you recommend?
