Fuel consumption on a Kia

Please note the 67.3 mpg combined you show and Kia show in the information for this model I believe is not attainable in normal driving if there is such a thing.

I did a test as recommended by the garage who sold me my car a main dealer to simulate a combined drive of length 60 miles and the garage repeated the test in my car.

The figure achieved was 20 miles lower than the published figures.

Now as I made a decision to purchase based on the advertised figures and no doubt others have also done the same am I unlucky or is my experience relatively typical and published mpg figures have to be downrated by at least 25% to get nearer to a typical figure attainable.

The Real Life Fuel Economy Register at www.honestjohn.co.uk shows 48mpg for the 1.0 without a/c, 46.5mpg for the 1.0 with a/c and a surprising 52.7mpg for the 1.25 EcoDynamics ISG. The whole point of the Real Life Fuel Economy Register is to show real drivers what they are really likely to get. The EC Certification tests do not do this.
